An Abundance of Activities In and Around the Oak Park & River Forest Area
Oak Park, River Forest, Forest Park, Elmwood Park...So Much To Offer!
There is plenty to do in the Chicagoland area and below I have included some links to our most popular attractions. Within the our local community, there is also an abundance of events and activities to do in and around the Oak Park/River Forest area.
That reason alone is why many people move here. In a matter of minutes, you can be in downtown Chicago but if you want a little quaint village evening with excellent dining, a movie, a walk through our historic districts… there is no place like Oak Park River Forest.
Below are my favorite local activities & seasonal highlights:
Saturday Farmer's Market - Every Saturday between June-October from 7am-1pm
Ice Cream at Petersen's Ice Cream Parlor @ the corner of Chicago/Marion in Oak Park
Dinner at Hemmingway's Bistro across the street from the Hemingway Museum
The absolute best sub sandwiches at Alpine Deli on North Avenue in Elmwood Park
Taking my kids to any of the activities offered by the Park Districts of Oak Park and River Forest
Catching a movie at the vintage Lake Theatre on Lake Street in downtown Oak Park
Walking tours of world-renowned Frank Lloyd Wright homes
Getting lost with the kids in Geppetto's Toy Box on Lake Street
Likewise, exploring all the fun trinkets Pumpkin Moon has to offer
Trying new local culinary delights: Altiro, The Heritage, Citrine, The Little Gem Cafe
Of course, there are the oldies-but-goodies local staples too: Maya del Sol, Gaetano's, Autre Monde
